Professor
Michele Rossi, fine gentleman and great chemist9-Oct-2023 - Professor Michele Rossi has passed away in his hometown Milan on October 8th, 2023, where he was born 84 years ago.

"There will be time to remember the great chemist", said Mario Pagliaro on learning the news, "now it is the time to remember Michele, the fine gentleman, father and grandfather, and dear friend.

"We met at a congress of italy's Chemical Society in Alghero in June 2002. Perhaps also because he was in his beloved Sardinia, Michele was particularly relaxed and happy. A few months later, we started to collaborate.

"Michele was a man full of wit and a true gentleman. Born a few months before his hometown was subjected to heavy bombing during world war II, he was one of the men who literally reconstructed Italy after the war.

"Like many gentlemen originating from Milan, he loved Italy's beautiful south and its glorious beaches and shores which he knew personally also as a freediver when, in 1974, he became full Professor of inorganic chemistry at the University of Bari.

"He will be greatly missed. During this time of sorrow we wish to express our heartfelt condolances to his familiy, friends, and former research team members".
