Entitled "IntegroPectin: Una nuova pectina di Citrus con pił elevata e vasta attivitą biologica", the lecture summarized the broad-scope outcomes of 2 years of intense, cross-disciplinary researches on the new citrus pectin discovered with the team of Francesco Meneguzzo at Florence's CNR carried out with colleagues from Palermo's University and Palermo's CNR.

Attended by nearly 150 participants, AICIng 2021 hosted two other plenary lectures, one given by Professor Rafael Luque ("Benign by design strategies for a more sustainable future: the valorisation concept") and another by Professor Signorino Galvagno ("La ricerca scientifica: dal laboratorio alla gestione manageriale").

Some 34 oral and 64 poster presentations in widely different fields of today's chemical engineering and chemistry research in Italy enriched the excellent Conference programme.

The conference was the occasion to celebrate Professor Rosario Pietropaolo 80th birthday.
