3-May-2024 -  Mario Pagliaro has been named Highly Ranked Scholar, last five years, by ScholarGPS, a data science company that operates a large research database of over 200 million publications and 3 billion citations to rank over 30 million scholars and 55,000 institutions worldwide.

Highly Ranked Scholars are those with ScholarGPS Ranks of 0.05% or better amid all scholars worldwide ranked on the basis of productivity (number of publications), impact (citations), and papers of highest impact (h-index).

Ranked 4,835 amid all scholars in all fields, Dr Pagliaro has been awarded Highly Ranked Scholar status based on his accomplishments over the prior five years (2018-2022). Prior Five Years are eminent authors (active, retired, and deceased) whose Top Percentage Ranks places them in the top 0.05 % of all scholars due to their cholarly contributions in the following four categories: Overall (All Fields), with respect to their specific Field, with respect to their specific Discipline, and with respect to all Specialties with which they are associated.

Italy's Reseach Council (the CNR) has only 2 scholars in the HRS five year ranking for Italy: Mario Pagliaro and Mario Coccia. The two scholars (Mario Pagliaro, Istituto per lo Studio dei Materiali Nanostrutturati, and Mario Coccia, Collegio Carlo Alberto) are affiliated by the database with the names of their institute or university where they work as researchers or invited professors.

Mario Coccia, a social science scholar is a HRS from the CNR, too.
