2024
4-Jul-2024
- Mario Pagliaro gave on July 1st the lecture "NiGraf: A new Class of
Ni-based electrocatalysts for enhanced alkaline water electrolysis" at the
the IX Symposium on Hydrogen, Fuel Cells and Advanced Batteries (
Hyceltec
2024) held in the Milazzo, Sicily, between June 30 and July 3.
The Symposium was held in the beautiful
venue of Milazzo's hilltop medieval castle (

Chaired by Vincenzo Baglio, the
conference hosted nearly 200 participants including delegates from
Americas, Europe and Asia.
This prestigious event brought together leading experts, researchers, and
industry professionals from around the world to discuss the latest
advancements and innovations in the field of clean energy storage
including hydrogen energy (and related fuel cell and water electrolysis
technologies), and advanced batteries.
Eminent speakers
Invited lectures were given by Mark
Koper ("Electrolyte effects on electrocatalytic hydrogen and oxygen
evolution"), Silvia Bodoardo ("Battery2030+inititative can
be the driver of the European research on batteries?"), and Plamen
Atanassov ("ARCHES: Alliance for renewable clean hydrogen energy
systems"). A commemoration lecture of Leo Spiccia was given
by Alexandr Simonov.
Invited
lectures were held by
Andrea Zaffora, Ilaria Pucher, Juqing Zeng,
Amanda Garcia, Laetitia Dubau,
Enrico Berretti, Mauro Francesco

Andrea Casalegno, and Francesca Santoni.
Several other oral presentations (89
in total) attracted the interest of the audience of the different
conference sessions (Hydrogen, Batteries, Fuel Cells). The Symposium
hosted a rich poster presentation session comprising 41 posters.
Overall, the Symposium was a smashing

Inaugurated in 2008 in Bilbao, Spain, as an
Iberian conference, the Hyceltec Symposium series was held until 2015
between Spain and Portugal. In 2017, Hyceltec became a truly
international conference. The 2022 edition was held in Buenos Aires.
