Mario Pagliaro's RSC Fellowship certificateIn recognition of his "significant contributions to the chemical sciences", Mario Pagliaro has been designed Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, as of October 31st, 2014.

With 49,000 members worldwide, the Royal Society of Chemistry is the world’s leading chemistry community.

Established in 1841, the Society has its main offices at Thomas Graham House, on the Science Park in Cambridge, UK.

Its mission is to advancing excellence in the chemical sciences.

Accordingly, the RSC organizes conferences and courses and manages a cutting-edge website at rsc.org, widely used by chemists worldwide as a most valued online resource.

As (non-profit) publisher, the Society publishes some of the top-quality chemical research publications.

"It is an honour to be associated with the oldest chemistry society in the world, says Dr Pagliaro.

"Back in March 2002, I had the privilege to study one day in the Library at Burlington House where Davy's collection is on display not far from Faraday's papers.

"Today,
he concludes, "the RSC rightly has offices in Beijing and Bangalore. Its roots off Piccadilly, however, may only help to drive further advances".
