Mario Pagliaro has
delivered today to the
Israel Science Foundation the evaluation report of an important
research project
in materials science
"
Your review will play a major role
in our decision making process and
contribute to the advancement of scientific research in Israel",
wrote the chairperson of the ISF to Italy's Research Council scholar based in Sicily.
Dr Pagliaro evaluates
research projects for numerous leading
research agencies.
Besides Israel Science Foundation, the
list includes French
Research Agency, Royal Society, Pazi
Foundation, US-Israel Binational Science Foundation, Research
Foundation - Flanders, Estonian Research Council, Poland National
Science Centre, and German Academic Exchange Service.
The aim of the ISF is to promote and support scientific research of
high
quality through
allocation of
grants in a large range of fields.
The ISF
awards grants in
all fields
of exact sciences, life sciences, humanities and social sciences to
Israeli researchers at Israeli universities, other institutions of
higher education, research and medical centers.
Awarded on the basis of
scientific
merit
grants are are selected on the basis of scientific excellence and
vetted through a competitive peer-review process, involving thousands
of scientists in Israel and abroad every year, who carry out this
essential mission on a
voluntary basis.
In 2016, the ISF received and reviewed 2,363 proposals from all
scientific disciplines, out of which 831 were selected for funding.
